Love this! I sometimes think about when archaeologists/historians read into things too much and try to make complex conclusions from old writings or artifacts. Giving them lots of meaning when they could also be artifacts of boredom like these! I wonder what they’d say about the drawing here…

Also, your description of flipping to the right page really resonated haha!

When I learn that an artifact was made for fun/decoration, it brings a smile to my face. Maybe I feel a sort of connection with people of the past. I think we fall culprit to looking at people in the past as separate entities, when in reality, they were bored people just like us. Of course they created and wrote things to pass the time!

This was such a riveting read! What a throwback to the good old days of middle and high school. It’s always interesting to think about how this era of history will be represented in the future considering just how much info there is on the internet. How much of it will disappear, and how much of it will remain? Only time will tell …
